Broughton and the Heritage Coast Campsite, 17 June

Lead: Frank, Report: Liz

The very short walk led by Frank today, 17th June, was most enjoyable. As all five of us who turned up for it were well able to do stiles and field walking. Frank decided upon taking the cross-country route down to the Heritage Coast campsite. Several of us had never done this path before and Frank and I had not done it for several years. The path was in good shape, apart from one broken stile between Broughton and the Plough and Harrow, so this has already been reported as it’s a pleasant alternative to the road.

The sun came out once at the campsite, so our coffee was enjoyed on the terrace, with views of the sea in the distance. Returning home via the road, the air was filled with scent of roses and honeysuckle, and made a final stretch home, most pleasant. We had walked just over 3 miles, an excellent rural ramble to start the week!
