St. Athans, 13th April

15 of us met at the WVH and headed to St. Athans where we started our walk.

The weather was perfect for walking with sun and blue skies accompanying us throughout. We then headed toward Rock Road continuing along the lane and footpath towards the B4265, near the ESSO station, which we crossed and headed towards West Aberthaw, witnessing amazing views of the Bristol Channel as we crossed fields heading toward Gileston.

We then stopped to acknowledge the marker placed showing the level that water rose to from a Tsunami in 1607, then passing Gileston Manor and estate on our way back to our cars.

We headed to Fontygary Leisure Park where we were joined by Mags and Moira and enjoyed tea/coffee and the views over the channel.

A nice day, lovely walk, with good company.
