Porthcawl, 13th February

Fourteen of us made our way to Beach Road, Newton, Porthcawl. Despite sadly, a few parking tickets and some having to move because of a funeral at the church; a most enjoyable walk was had.

We started along the beach road continuing on the coastal path, passing Trecco Bay Caravan Park and continuing alongside the sand dunes before reaching Coney Beach amusement park. There were a number of school children picking up litter on the beach but they may have done better picking up the litter within the amusement park left by inconsiderate patrons.

We continued along the Eastern promenade toward the marina where we stopped for tea/coffee. After relaxing in sunny but in somewhat windy conditions we embarked on our return journey we elected to bypass the amusement park and walked along the sands of Sandy Bay beach.  We stopped at an old life guard building for a photograph before continuing on to the end of our walk,

In all a most enjoyable and pleasant walk.
