Southerndown and Ogmore by Sea, 6 July

Monday 10am saw 11 walkers meet up outside All Saints Church, Southerndown from where we commenced the walk up a gradual incline to Groes Farm. As ever, there was much chat and banter, to and fro, between the walkers.

From the farm we continued the road to Norton Farm, turning left through the farm yard. While efforts were made to close the farm gate, a dog’runner’ came through with two dogs on the lead, the dogs dictating their masters running pace!

Leaving Norton Farm, the group progressed through the meandering lane, commenting on the changes the new farm owners had made regarding road access for farm vehicles.

Prior to our route descent into Ogmore village we were afforded  views of the estuary and Porthcawl.

At the Ogmore Welsh Coffee shop we were joined by Moira, Bridget, Ann P and Liz R. Refreshments  were appreciated by all.

A photo call before walking from the coffee shop over the cliff top to Southerndown where waiting cars transported walkers home.

Thank you for your company.
