Parc slip near Aberkenfig, 8th April

Under an overcast sky eight walkers met at the village hall for Mondays short walk at Parc Slip, while Moyra met us at the nature reserve. However other than a few moments of light rain we enjoyed a dry morning’s walk.

Sitting in the hide Graham, our go to person regarding flora and fauna on the walks, saw a grebe on the lake while long horned cattle were seen at the edge. Two of the group had never been to Parc Slip before so the memorial and carvings to those who died in the mining disaster were of interest.

Noone ventured to sit on top of the memorial for the group photo which perhaps was just as well as the stones were rather slippery. You are missed on our walks Liz!

Without traffic or rain to contend with it was a relaxed walk in good company, finished with teas, coffee and laughter at Ewenny garden centre.
