Llantwit Major, Llanmaes and Frampton, 22nd January

Ten of us set off from WVH to the windmill playing ground car park in Llantwit Major, from where we commenced our walk. It was a pleasant winters day, and perfect for walking.

We headed to Llanmaes, passed St Cattwg Church (I was remiss in not telling a few Gavin & Stacy fans that this was the church in the series where they did not get married. I was only recently made aware of Gavin & Stacy so don’t know the significance) then on to Great House and through the lanes passing Millands caravan park towards Eglwys Brewis.

We passed the new Aston Martin factory and the South Wales Aviation Museum. Also visible were many aircraft that were being refurbished and recommissioned into service. We identified many of the aircraft logos except one which was later identified as an original BOAC plane.

We continued toward Pickerton, passed Jakes Caravan Park and then stopped for a coffee break. We continued along Sigginstone Road and turned to cross back to the car park via Frampton.

Everyone was in good spirits as we all went to Topstak for coffee/tea before heading back to Wick/Ogmore after what was a most pleasant and enjoyable walk.
