Monday 10am saw nine WWs meeting, and, albeit, under somewhat dubious skies, looking forward to walking down to the Heritage Camp site. Sue joined the group on the road outside her home en route, making a jolly good turn out of ten.
We turned down Chapel Street, passing Marie’s home. Due to a prior commitment, on this occasion, Marie was unable to join the jolly crew.
Blackberries! Luscious fruits dripping from the hedgerows, beckoning to these passers-by to eat on the go. Sweet treats for free.
Should we walk through Monk’s Wood? As a result of yours truly failing to email two of the group, they were not informed of the intention to traverse through the wood; there was an issue regarding waterproof footwear. My bad!
Mary suggested we stay on the road to the campsite; perhaps returning through Monks Wood when the possibility of damp footwear would be short lived. Well suggested Mary!

We arrived at the campsite under sunny skies. Having purchased our various hot drinks (The Cafe was opened specifically for our visit) we sat outside appreciating our good fortune at spending a Monday morning in such pleasing circumstances.
We returned to Wick with farewells, and looking forward to future walks.
