The weather was still a bit ominous as we met at WVH and knowing that underfoot conditions and flooded fields prevailed, I was pleased that 14 of us turned up for the walk, which was around the Ewenny area.
Keeping to firm ground and away from the fields, we headed down Abbey Road and towards the priory. The road was wet but presented no problems.
We spent some time at the Priory, many are aware of the historic nature of the 12th century Norman architecture, the remarkable painting by Turner, which resides in the National Museum of Wales and the visit of Prince of Wales in 2013, so I won’t digress too much on that.

We continued walking, back down Abbey Road to Tingle Lane and up to Wick road, which we followed down to Ewenny garden centre and its cafe for most welcome refreshments.
The weather held off and enjoyable day was enjoyed by all.
