Ten of us met in Wick and drove to the Forage farm shop and cafe near Cowbridge. Leaving Forage, we followed the A48 for a short while, passing the paintballing centre on our right. Climbing up to Penllyn village we stopped briefly at the Church before stopping to look at the Salmon wells at the bottom of the hill. On the way we admired houses that were much too expensive for us, and that was before we had to employ several gardeners to look after the manicured gardens.
Turning right at the Barley Mow pub we climbed up to the edge of the wood before descending and then walking through the beautiful lower part of the wood below Penllyn castle.

We returned for coffee and lunch at Forageand despite the forecast it did not rain on us, and we had a really nice mixed walk in good company.
