Seven of us turned up at the WVH and headed out for what turned out to be a most memorable and enjoyable walk. We parked our cars on the road just outside of the gates to Hensol Castle and distillery, from where we commenced our walk.
We crossed a style located on the road leading to the Vale Hotel and passed through their garden/building supplies depot before walking through and passing the areas where Cardiff City football and the Welsh Rugby union training grounds, which were in the most immaculate condition.
We then continued along through the Vale car park and onto the vale Golf Club and café; there were a number of golfers practising on the putting greens, we then crossed a second style (Marie was quick to point out that I said there was only one.) but it was no challenge and we moved on passing some beautiful homes in the grounds. Phil was on the ball, literally as we came upon a number of lost golf balls on the banks of a small stream.

We continued along the path that exited onto the golf course and continued around the edge of the course passing alongside the lake. A number of Canadian Geese and a swan were on our projected path, but they gracefully slipped into the lake while we passed, continuing around the grounds exiting on Hensol road where we stopped for a short break.
We continued up Hensol Road, heading back to our cars and passing Llynarch Vineyard along the way.
Our day was not yet complete as a unanimous decision was made to drive back to the clubhouse for drinks and a light bite.
A most enjoyable day.
