Llanmaes Circular, 8 February

Although winter, it was perfect walking conditions.

Eight of us set off from WVH and headed to Llanmaes for the beginning of our walk around the back lanes. We parked by the Blacksmith Arms and headed towards St Cattwgs Church, thankfully there were no Gavin and Stacy fans to be seen.

We then headed east, towards Froglands Farm, and passed Midlands Caravan Park. As we turned to the north, we walked past St Athans where multiple aircraft were being refurbished or scrapped. We crossed the unbelievable set of traffic lights at the entrance to the Aston Martin factory (some 30 black traffic lights and pedestrian posts for one junction)

We continued on through Picketston passing Happy Jakes caravan park and on towards Sigingstone. Before reaching we turned into Sigingstone lane and headed back to Llanmaes and our cars. It was a difficult choice for us, but we succumbed to temptation and went into the Blacksmiths for a drink and light refreshments.

The walk was relaxing, pleasant, enjoyable company and stimulating, we covered 5 miles, and it was enjoyed by all.
