Twelve Wanderers left WVH at 10am, parking a few hundred yards off the main road that leads from Llantwit Major to Cowbridge (B4270), opposite the turn off for Topstak.
The weather was very good, with brilliant sunshine and no wind, so we set off passing Wilton House and Farm, following the road to the right, then turning left toward Llanmihangel.

We soon passed Rectory Farm and took a left turn toward Plas Llanmihangel, a grand Tudor Country Manor that dates back to the 12th century. The earliest part of the house being the stone vaulted undercroft, once owned by the Norris family of Penlline, but now owned by the John’s family since 2022, and if you fancy a treat you can stay there.

We then visited St Michael Church. The first written record dates to 1254 and the earliest part of the current building is 13th century. The west tower was added in the 15th century, and the entire building was restored in the late Victorian period in Perpendicular Gothic style.

Leaving Llanmihangel we continued along a steepish hill toward Frampton and it wasn’t long before we were arrived at Sigingstone, a very nice village with a mix of older buildings such as Green Farm (Listed Building) and more recently constructed houses and bungalows and a very nice pub, the Victoria Inn.

Another 10 minutes or so and were back to the cars. This was a very enjoyable short walk, wonderful company, followed with teas, coffees and cakes at Topstak.
The total walk distance was just under 3.5 miles and took 1 hour and 30 mins (approx.)
