Newbridge Fields, 23rd March

Ten of us met for Mondays walk on the 23 March which turned out to be a perfect, casual and enjoyable day.

We commenced our walk from the Bridgend Life Centre and walked along-side the river before reaching the monument erected for the eisteddfod in 1947 and also commemorating the 1997 eisteddfod in Pencoed, we asked some friendly passerby’s to take a picture.

We continued alongside the river, by Newbridge Fields, on and beneath the tunnel under the A48, to the dipping bridge, then stopped for a while to talk to some children who were enjoying themselves in the river before heading back on the other side of the fields  to the Leisure Centre café, enjoying a drink and chat.

An enjoyable day with an easy 3 mile walk
