The original plan for today was to walk over the Garth Hill but as there were only five people interested; it was decided to postpone this walk until hopefully there might be more takers.
Instead, four of us drove to Candlestone carpark and walked over the sand dunes to the beach, along the beach and up the steep hill to the woods above before returning by the Tythegstone track to the carpark.

On the way we came across a young adder in the dunes and saw a flight of shell ducks. As the weather was fine and sunny, and we all enjoyed a picnic in a field leaning up against an old stone wall

The whole walk was 7kms and took 3.5 hours.
